    Question -

    - and I am asking about FACTORY connectors only (I do NOT want to know about "Ghost" and other aftermarket connectors!)

Will the OLD 4.5# / "-" connector (Gen 3 and previous guns) work in a new Gen 4 gun?

Or is there a specific "Gen 4" 4.5#/"-" connector?

I'm NOT asking about the new 5# "dot" connector, and again I am NOT asking about aftermarket ones, and do NOT want to know about aftermarket ones.

Looking to replicate the 4.5#/"-" connector w/ a NY1 spring like I have in all my Gen 3 guns in a new Gen 4 one.

    Thanks -

    Thank you :)

Amazingly enough, a Google search turned up no straight answer on this :(

All you get is "5#/"dot" connector" this and "aftermarket connector" that. :(

    Thanks again!

    You're quite welcome.

The '-' connector is not one that I suggest people use, it gives a very creepy trigger let off, but it'll work.

There are ten articles in my blog that all new Glockers should read....with the two on trigger control (page 2) being most important.

I have the - connectors in all my glocks gen 3 & gen 4. In fact I'm putting one in a new gen 4 G22 I just bought today.

Yeah, I have a strange feeling when I get my Gen 4 gun that I am going to find I don't like the 4.5/ "-" connector in it, and probably wind up going w/ the 5#/"." one instead.

I already have quite a few 4.5#/"-" connectors on hand though, that I bought in bulk when they were on sale since I run them in so many of my Glocks already. :)

    We'll have to see.......

    Thanks again -

Concur with this assessment. I prefer the std dot connector in my Gen 4's.

I run the factory "-" connector and NY1 trigger spring in all of my Gen3 Glocks and like that set up very much. In conversation with a Glock Factory Rep I asked how that would work in a Gen4. He said the pistol would function just fine but the trigger pull would not be as nice due to the Gen4 trigger housing and the angle it places on the connector. Bill

Factory connectors are all the same size across the entire Glock product lineup, and can all be interchanged. Re-emphasize... connectors ONLY.

Yes, the (-) will work in the gen 4 glocks. I prefer the (.) connector though...

Well I never shot a glock with the dot connector till today. Brand new gen 4 G22. I DID NOT like it. I was not as fast on the trigger as the "-" connector in my other gen 4 G22. Once I swapped it out I was a lot happier.

What's the purpose of the "dot" connector? I take it that it is the "standard" with the Gen 4s?

Yes it is the standard connector for gen 4 glocks now. When the gen 4's were first introduced the original 5.0# connectors made for a lot heavier pull (around 6.5lbs I believe). The dot was created to alleviate some of this.

I have used the minus(-) connector on my gen4 19. It works but I don't like the weird feel of it. Bunch of Mush.

I was using the minus with the NY-1 in my G4 19. I really like that combo. On a whim I put the standard connector back in and frankly can't tell any difference so that is where I am leaving it for now.
