Why is it so much more difficult to find vs. 40, 9mm, 357 sig, etc?

    I cannot find it anywhere!

I've seen it at gun shows, but that's it.

Why aren't they making more? I'd think the profit margins are great on it.

Manufacturers did not expect the great popularity of the compact little guns chambered for it now.

They weren't making a lot of it before, and when the demand went up, they were not prepared.

I'm kind of surprised the shortage has continued so long on .380. I know it takes time to ramp up but geez.

I've heard that .380 is produced on the same production lines as 9mm so 9mm is getting priority. 9mm is still way more used than .380. LE, military, etc

They are nice little guns... and I'm glad to see that more women are starting to shoot... Obviously they are for women because no man would carry that little thing.

Don't forget about the manufacturers who've come out with new 380 pistols recently. They are buying 380 ammo by the several thousand rds per month for research & development and testing new production pistols.

Sig, Kahr, S&W, Ruger, Taurus, Magnum Research and Diamondback Arms to name a few. I would think that would sap quite a bit out of the commercial market.

No .380 shortage around here. I buy a few boxes per month at about $20/50 rds. I store most of it and shoot some through my P3AT now and then.

That is what I thought too. That is the only reason I keep buying some here and there when I have some extra green in my wallet. :whistling:
