    Mr. Ayoob,
You mentioned two 380 loads in another thread as being worth consideration. The Hornady critical defense and the "the Remington standard line JHP".

Is that the Remington L380A1 that they sell in the UMC line or the green/yellow Remington R380A1 or something else?

Would you happen to know if the L380A1 and R380A1 are the same cartridge in different packaging?

    Thanks,
    WB

Remington advises me that the difference between the two loads is the Remington Express load (R380A1) is waterproofed at the case mouth, and the lower cost Rem-UMC version (L380A1) is not.

    best,
    Mas

    Thanks.

Would that make long term storage of the UMC load inadvisable?

Not necessarily. I have a lot of UMC on hand for training and action shooting competition. I just keep it in a cool, dry place. You can also use waterproof containers. Some guys shrinkwrap.

    best,

Thanks again. Know this wandered a bit afield of self-defense.
