Will a 36 "ride" in a 27 holster? I sold my 27 and am in the process of buying a 36. Will it work or sell the holster?

I think it should fit nicely. My dad's 36 fits in his 26 holster, which has roughly the same dimensions as the 27. And all three are within +/- 0.002” if you mic the slide widths of each.

He did say, however, that he cannot get his 36 into a brommeland made for a 26...so it could also depend on the holster manufacturer and how tight their tolerances are. YMMV.

Its a hybrid holster. Kydex on leather. I would like to keep it if I could.

If it does not fit well, you can use a heat gun to remold it a bit.

Guns generally need to be in a holster made for that gun, not just a holster they manage to fit in. That said, all .40 caliber glocks, more often than not, fit the same holsters, having the same dimensions in the areas generally contacted by a holster. The 36 has the same dimensions in most areas in contact with a holster, and will usually, but not always, fit a 27/23/22 holster equally well.

My G36 will fit into a Raven Phantom designed for a G23. That's all I can testify to on this subject. I would wait and see. Cheers.

I bought a Crossbreed Supertuck for my 19. The same holster will fit a 17/22/23 and when I was thinking on picking up a 36 I tried it. The 36 fit fine, its a hair thinner than the 19 but I would not hesitate to use it for carry. YMMV...

The grip is thinner, but from the trigger guard up was the same width as my 23 on mine.

The 36 barrel and slide are longer than the 27.

If the holster closes in at the muzzle it will probably not fit very well.

posted from my stupid smart phone, please excuse any spelling mistakes.

    I use a Don Hume IWB for a 36 for my 27. I think a 36 might stick out a little on a 27 holster.
