Hello,

I was told I could buy a G31 & swap the barrel with a g22 barrel & then use G22 mags & I'll be able to have a G22 basically. Is that the case? And would it be reliable.
Here's the deal. I want a G22, but a friend has a used G31 for sale cheap. For less then a new G22, I could buy the G31, .40 barrel & a few 22 mags & then have .357 & .40.

I've done this in reverse with my G32. I simply bought a .40S&W barrel from Top Gun Supply http://www.topgunsupply.com/ and it drops right in without modification of any sort. You CAN use the same magazines, but there are differences between the .357 and .40 mags and thus you should go ahead and buy extra mags designed specifically for the caliber you're shooting.

P.S. Yes, they are reliable.
Daughter has a G31 in 357 sig and an aftermarket 40 barrel. She caries the 357 but does most of her practice with the 40 due to ammo cost.
Yes, but why? Most folks go the other way.
Like he said, I converted my G27 .40 to .357sig. I love the .357 round. I also bought a 9mm barrel for practice.
Because the 31 is $350, & the 22 is $560 out the door. That's why.
I wanted the 22 to go with my 27, but this seems like a better route now that I see it's really that simple.

Please cite a source for this sillyness.
I'm pretty good buds with a dealer and his costs for NIB 31's and 22's is $440.

You missed in his original post where he said "...but a friend has a used G31 for sale cheap..."
