I'm curious about fitting a .357 SIG barrel to my Glock 22. I read that the pistol needs to be the newer three-pin type to safely use the .357 barrel. Mine is (I'm pretty sure....).

Then I read in Lone Wolf Distributors' catalog that the .357 barrel should only be fitted to pistols later than those with a "DAN" prefix. Mine is a "BDR" prefix.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Buying another pistol is always the right answer.

(I should know better than to second-guess LWD's information)

    Good shooting,

Is your Glock 22 a gen 1 (no grip grooves or checkering), 2 (checkering), 2.5 (checkering with grip grooves), or 3 (checkering, grip grooves, plus light rail?)

I might not be remebering this correctly, but I thought the whole 3 pin issue applied only to .40 S&W pistols built in 1990/1991, it was not very long after the .40 was released that the frame was strengthened with the extra pin....

The prefix code might only refer to earlier Generation 1 pistols from 1990/1991/1992 era

Mine's a 2nd Generation Glock, built in December of 1994.

Here's the quote from LWD regarding using the .357 barrel in a G22:
"Note: .357 Sig Barrels should not be used in a non FGR frame. First and second generation frames were not built to handle the excessive slide speed. Third generation (FGR) 3 pin frames after serial prefix 'DAN' have been reinforced to accommodate the increase in slide speed."

I guess I'll have to save my money and buy a G31.

    Good shooting,
