    I asked glock
They (the tech) said the uppers of the
    30S
    And
    36 are the same .

    I have both....they are the same.....note key words 30S
In the above post uppers means complete slide with bbls ...springs..etc
I asked if I could switch them ... if the gun would work ...yes was his answer.

Thanks for the link. A nice threaded barrel and a suppressor might be a fun little toy on my 30s.

    It's listed on the site for both models , 30s & 36.
So they should be the same factory barrels in both firearms.

    No, not wrong.

Before you make such hard & fast statements, you should read what is written by others.

I never said that the barrels are definitely different, just that I thought I remember reading that they are. My statements are 100% correct!

I also heard from Glock regarding the question of whether there is a difference between the barrel of the 30S and 36. "They are the exact same barrel." I sent the email to Lone Wolf and they added the threaded barrel for 30S. They already had it for the 36. Hope this helps.

I saw a photo somewhere on one of these glock sites- showing the 30, 36, 30s barells all side by side- even helen keller can see the ramps are different in ALL the barells- the chambers are different- My experience with Glock in GA and Austria is - they cant find their A-- in a closet. Dont use a barell not designated for your weapon

Ive seen too many FU's at the range over half assed stuff- so put in the right part. Remember- when you rebuild your engine you should NEVER have EXTRA screws. Sometimes , even the vendors for stuff employ short bus riders- so their word is not the end all or gospel ( neither is mine)

    My take:
Cast bullets + Glock factory barrel = ok
Swaged bullets + Glock factory barrel = not ok

You are wasting your time searching for aftermarket barrel.

They may be the same - I really do not know. It doesn't matter too much to me... just curious. I have two G30S's & they work fine for me, whether the barrels are the same or not. (and I have no plans for an aftermarket barrel.)

However, I don't see what frankenglocks have to do with the factory version. Even though both work well, it does not mean they are identical.

Well, as long as it doesn't matter that you really don't know.

GRT45 showed us the Glock factory barrel listing, long ago, and there is not a special one for the 30s.

Why did this thread run any longer?

...because the G30S is basically a "FrankenGLOCK" just put together by GLOCK (now)...people like mo.glocker were making the "G30S" LONG before GLOCK did (although it was known on the errornet as the G30 Recon ;) ) and it's popularity is the reason for the G30S today...it used the G36 barrel back then...it uses it today.
