These were shot by my Dad with a Remington 700-based Accuracy International .308 built by http://www.tacticalrifles.net The scope I believe is a Night Force (one of the top models they have). Ammo was factory Black Hills 175grain.

The paper target hit 17 out of 17 times. The saw blade was 3 out of 3 with the 3rd shot actually hitting the edge after the 2nd knocked it over. I'd say a little luck played into this.

Just thought they were interesting to see.

Nice. Anything beyond 800 and the wind really messes with 308. 1000 is a tough shot.

The saw blade is 12 inches, so its right about 1 MOA. Your dad must be a hell of a shot because I know some fairly accomplished shooters that cant hit a 12 inch target 3 for 3 at 1000 yards with a .308

For 1000 yards with a .308 that is very good shooting. Must be a very good scope, with the scope on my Ruger M77 a target like that would be very small at that distance.

Remarkable, basically lobbing in artillery with a .308 at that distance

Yes, none penetrated. They aren't going very fast after 1000yards.

He did say the weather/wind was about perfect that day. He usually isn't that consistent.

Impressive to say the least. I've come to favor the 7mm's over the years.

i wouldn't want to be down range from him at a thousand yards. Nice shooting.

That is very good shooting, indeed. I presume there was not much wind the day this was accomplished.

That saw blade looks like it's in better shape than the one I'm using!!! Did you have to use the carbide tipped one?????

Very nice shooting! Wish that we had a place around here to try out that kind of distance. I've got a Remington 700 PSS that I've never been able to shoot past 200 yards due to range restrictions. Maybe I'll get to go to a longer range....someday.....:crying:

not to mention that after 800 it drops like a rock and if you are doing range estimation off the reticle, being 15-20y off on your past 800y unknown distance range estimation will cause you to miss your target completely. let alone making an A zone hit almost impossible using range estimation from the reticle.
