I need a couple of 300GB drives, one IDE and one SATA. I've been having good luck with Seagates lately.

    Any recommendations?

I've had fairly good luck with Maxtor and Western Digital. But I far prefer Seagate drives. The WD seems a tiny bit faster than Maxtor but Maxtor seems a tiny bit quieter.Seagate is pure quality.I don't mind paying the extra for Seagate. With the large drives these days, even if they are fairly cheap, that's a lot of data and it's worth more to me than the price of the drive.WD and Maxtor have seemed to have gone the way of Walmart.Go with Seagate.

The Samsung 16MB buffer drives are almost as fast as a WD Raptor.
    Look into them.

I've always had good luck with western digital. I haven't tried segate yet but that would be my next choice, and I've purchased one Maxtor cause the price was right but the jury is still out on that one.
