I posted on the thread "Anyone regret buying a 27", and I rethought my issue. I posted that the grip texture on the Gen 4 27 was causing a bruise on my ring finger when firing. Well, after looking more closely at the bruise, it occurred to me that it could be the mag to frame gap closing a bit from recoil that is causing the bruise. I never had a problem with the Gen 3 27 doing this. Could it be the difference in frame causing this?

I have a GAP floor plate for my 26 and noticed the gap is closer from mag to frame. I'll put a GAP floor plate on the 27 mag to see if this cures my problem.

I've not read anyone complaining about this before.

Thanks Tony, that make a lot of sense. If that is the case, I may keep the Gen 4 27 and look for older mags.

That's what I do. Anytime I can find Glock mags without the the ambi mag release cutouts and the center cutout in the mag I buy them. I buy the ones like these..

I compared my 26 mags with the 27 mag and they are both the same length. They are both the newer mags. The 26 mag with the GAP floor plate is noticeably closer to the frame. So I think I'll buy another set of the GAPs. In the long run its cheaper that buy all new/old mags.

With the 27 mag inserted I could press on the bottom and pinch my finger exactly where the bruise is. I know I could just grip a bit higher. That would work for slow aimed shots, but would be more challenging for draw and shoot.

As I mentioned the 26 and 27 mags are identical in length. What I did find out is the Gen 3 26 grip is longer than the Gen 4 grip by a smidgen, thereby causing the 26 frame to mag gap to be smaller. This may be esoteric information, but I'm wondering if I'm the only one being pinched by the Gen 4 27?

Bought some various size o-rings from Lowe's Hadware. Slipped the correct sized o-right over the magazine and the problem was solved. I brought my magazine with me to Lowe's to obtain the proper fit. Good Luck.

I find them all the time at gun shows. Sometimes you can find them on here in the classifieds..

The quick and easy solution to Glock mag/grip finger pinch is a simple, very thin rubber O-ring available at any hardware store. Place it over the mag and it will buffer the gap between the mag and grip.

Thanks fellows, I'm off to Ace Hardware. I guess all the other Gen 4 27 owners don't need no stinkin O-rings.

The trimmed bicycle tube is a cheap fix also. It took all of 5 minutes to cut and fit exactly.

O rings will fix that issue for about $1.50

My hand is a bit smaller, and my pinkie wraps around the floor plate on my gen 4 G27, so ring finger is above the gap. O-ring or bike tube both sound like good ideas, though.

Do I see Miniature Schnauzers in your avatar? We lost ours about a year ago at age 13.

Yes they are Schnauzers. Moose on the right is 8. His sister Willie is 9. Different litters, same mom and dad.

Sorry for your loss my friend.

Anyone have a picture of the GAP floorplates installed on a g27 mag? I am assuming that they are the floorplates for the 45GAP.
