This I know, is getting nick picky. I have a 17 1st gen and tons of 9mm ammo.
But I also have full size high cap. clips for the .40 we used to have.
I am going to get one or the other shortly. But was wondering what opinions were to get the .40 or just sell the extra clips and ammo. Consolidate the
    ammo and excess gun stuff.
    Thanks
Glock 17, 20, Taurus .38, Super Redhawk 8in, Springfield Armory 1911 competition, for the pistols

Being a BIG g27 and 40sw fan I would say get the g27 because you have 40sw ammo and some high cap mags for the range . Just pick up a Super tuck holster for it and add it to your CCW rotation. Love my 27:supergrin:.

I have the 27 and a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel, works great.

I've never owned either and I'm a fan of both calibers. If I did get one I would get a 26. In your case you could sell the other stuff have one caliber that you have ammo for and if you ever shot in GSSF I think the 26 is a better choice there also. From things I have read on here it looks to me that the 26 is more popular, but that being said I don't think you would be going wrong with either choice.

.40 is my fav orite self-defense ammo, so I carry a 27, but I'd have no problem with a 26 either. I sometimes carry my wife's 26 even with the pink grip tape on the grip.

I'm debating 9mm vs .40 right now for my next pistol, and I typically prefer 9mm for less recoil and lower purchase price, when it's available. That's the problem though. I've noticed this past year that .40 tends to be readily available in practice ammo, and 9mm FMJs come more sporadically. I've seen/gotten 9mm every 3 or 4 weeks for the last 6 months, but the .40 is always in stock at wal-mart and other sources, so I'm leaning that way simply for availability.

I've got a 27 and a 22. I'd have no problem just owning the 9mm versions. Sell the mags and get a 26.

I don't know what a "full size high cap" is, and glocks don't use clips, so I can't help you there. Regarding a 26 or 27, I would recommend going with a solitary caliber. If you regularly carry 9mm, get the 26. If you regularly carry .40S&W, go with the 27. Good luck whichever you choose.

I would sell the extra .40 stuff and get the 26. It will be more controllable and it is just nice sharing ammo and mags with your full size.

big bullet > small bullet, 'nuff said

get the G27 if you are not happy with it, a 9mm barrel is cheaper than another glock :)

With todays ammo the 40>9mm thing is silly. That said, you will augment your G17 by selling the mags and going with the G26. And you can purchase G18 mags for you 17/26 combo.

This of course is JM2C, HR

I love Glocks as it is a system, shared mags and all. If you plan to get more .40's later keep the mags but if you want a system right now go G26 ups the battery IMO.

Another way to get rid of your .40 ammo is to buy .40 barrel for your G20.

    Nice. Thanks
Think I will do the 26 and burn up the 40 ammo through the 20. Easier to be stock
piling 1 less kind of ammo.

A bigger bullet is larger than a smaller bullet. Correct.

My G26 is amazing. Eats anything I throw in it.

I kind of regret getting a G27 and buying the Lone Wolf 9mm barrel. Oh well. I hear you might have to change out more stuff than just the barrel though...
