I feel weird even asking this, but... I just purchased a 25th anniversary Glock 17. Only 1,500 (2,500?) were made. The one I bought is NIB.

Should I shoot it or sock it into the "safe queen" section? It is not my only Glock - I have five others (though no other 17's). I've also considered adding a Lone Wolf barrel to keep the stock barrel shiny new.

What say you, GT crowd?

My gun shop has one for sale. Upon close inspection.....there is no way I can shoot this thing: it has all kind of markings ON THE BARREL !!!! No way I am going to shoot it. Therefore, I didn't buy it.:steamed:

Unlike my Beretta's Commemorative guns....the markings are on the slides. Nothing on the barrels. Shoots away !:whistling:

Save it and don't upgrade the RSA, ejector, extractor, etc. Keep it 100% as is even though we know some of the parts aren't up to spec. You might want to purchase the updated parts as they become available and just keep them with the gun. (Glock won't sell the new ejectors right now but they'll become available eventually). This way if you ever sell it to somone who wants to shoot it they'll have all the of the update parts available.

I wouldn't have bought one in the first place. It's not going to be worth anymore than the regular versions. At least not enough to justify the purchase.

Now moving on to answer your question... SHOOT IT.

I would say as soon as you shoot it, it might as well be any other glock as far as value is concerned. I would sell it and buy another use the extra cash to cover the cost of your first range visit with it.
