I am interested in this. Got any links I could learn from?
It's not just about weight loss.

23 Benefits of Intermittent Fasting & One Meal A Day: Dr Berg On OMAD Diet
Intermittent Fasting: Transformational Technique | Cynthia Thurlow | TEDxGreenville
When in Rome (Utah)... I usually fast 24hrs once every month or so. Getting ready to do a 72 hour fast (should do it quarterly, usually ends up being twice a year). 1st 24 a 'dry fast' (no food or water) Next 48 is plenty of water and electrolytes.
I have full metabolic syndrome, obese, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure. I am taking a fist full of pills twice a day.
Had a dr appointment yesterday, she took me off Jardiance. Otherwise no issues. Ask your doc.
Well I was obese. Not any more. BMI is now 26, down from 31. 2 more months and I should be in the low 20's.
Fasting has a LOT to offer you, especially metabolic syndrome. Fasting removes the insulin from your cells and resets your insulin sensitivity.
It might not be easy at first, but you'll get there and you won't look back.

Intermittent Fasting May Help Treat Metabolic Syndrome
That is my hope. I really hope I get to be a huge burden on social security by living into my 80's.
I decided I have been drinking too much coffee, so I cut back to 2 cups a day. Measured my BP this morning. 119/69. It hasn't been that low in over 30 years.
I did a 72 hour fast a couple weeks ago. Built up to it with a series of 24 fasts.
A 72 hr fast is actually pretty easy once you've done it a few times.
Currently on a 48 hour fast just because I'm at my cabin hunting this weekend and purposely didn't bring food. Just on coffee and water. My wife is coming up tomorrow and bringing food for the week.
See there, even reading about fasting has benefits.
How much alcohol are you allowed to drink during the fast?
As much as you want...until you pass out or get the munchies.
I have been doing intermittent fasting every day for months now.
Fast means fast. During the fast, the only thing I have is water, unsweet tea and black coffee. I don't even have artificial sweetener.
During your meal period? Whatever you want, as much as you want.
Fast lasted 27 hours today (just started eating). Got busy and didn't notice the time.
I’ve done 24 hours many times. Did 72 on my own once. Did longer in the Marines during a training exercise. That sucked.
I did 100 days of just juice. Hunger goes away in a few days once your body realizes it is getting plenty of nutrients. But that first week is hard.
I went 30 days* (perhaps it was 31 I forget) earlier this year. My nominal goal was 40 days but figured a month was good enough.
Kind of extreme; ideally I'd like to do a 48-72 hour fast at least once a week, though I went completely off the wagon for most of my COVID-19 lockdown.
*Water, vitamins and meds only.
That is incredible. How much weight lost in 30 days?
Are you saying you went 30 days without solid food?
What liquids did you consume?
I started doing this in April. I only eat dinner, no breakfast or lunch about 6-7 days a week. I combine that with 20-30 miles of hiking a week, 100 push ups a day, and some running one or twice a week.
The fasting was tough the first week, but easy after that.
I do about 36 hours, once every 5 days or so . Piece of cake ! I just went from Wednesday nights dinner to Friday’s breakfast, I don’t get hungry at all, it’s weird, I find it much easier then trying to eat say salads and stuff ,to drop weight .
I have Gerd , and it really helps that too, I’ll feel none of those effects for a few days after the fast .
