Fox is expected to announce that 24's time is finally up and its 8th season will be its last. This is what Variety says. They are saying that Fox will release a statement in the next couple of days announcing that 24 has been canceled. I guess this isn't exactly pube-pulling news and many saw it coming.

Apparently, 24's ratings aren't what they used to be and the show costs too much to produce. Fox also wants to begin production on a 24 movie and they can't go forward with this until the show is off the air.

It should have been cankled a long time ago. THERE'S NO TIME is getting old - and I only catch a show or two per season.

Good, Im sick of hearing about it. I started watching one season, 6 I think. Made it through like 3 episodes until I couldnt take it anymore.

This season on 24, Jack Baur saves the world from terrorists! Whats up for next season? Jack Baur yet again saves the world from terrorists!

I used to love the show...But sadly, "24" has done the ol' Fonzie shark-jumping thing...

No shame in getting canceled after 8 seasons. I never watched it, but I know a lot of people did/do. I tried it once and just couldn't get into it.

I love the show with a passion. Sadly I'm getting tired of the lack or originality in plot. First season was great because it was personal and just great story telling, second one had to up the ante and go with a nuke threat, third couldnt do a nuke cuz it was already done so whats next on the terrorist arsenal, how about a deadly virus? season 5 was great, but after that it was constant "nuclear threat". after a while i just dont care about the umpteenth nuke threat... come up with something new and exciting!!

I notice last week the Old Jack seem to be back in the way he told the terrorist that if he blew himself up letting the nuclear dirty bomb go off he was going to take the terrorist's mother to the site and let her absorb the radiation to die a slow painful death. The look in Jack's eyes while stating this left no doubt with the terrorist Jack meant what he said. It was a good show to me and I'll be sorry to see it go.

I saw every episode before the arrival of Janeane Garofalo, but none since.

24 had already jumped the shark when they started pretending that all terrorists weren't Muslims.

Season Four (Day 4) was the best, by far, with Marwan as the terrorist.

I agree that the most recent episode got a little bit of the show's spark back.

My wife and I both noticed that, so far, this season has had too little of Jack Bauer.

Also, to me, losing the Bill Buchanan and Tony Almeida characters was a big mistake -- they added a certain chemistry to the show.

They jumped the shark when Jack was poisoned and dying but they found the antidote just in time. Talk about an old worn out TV scenario. I think they even used that one in the 60s. :shakehead:

If they had any sense they would have killed off Jack and started three new shows...

CTU: Miami, CTU: Detroit and CTU: Minneapolis. :)

Watching "24" became quite fatiguing...I got so exhaused that I gave up on season 8 after the first episode.
