How come no one makes a 22LR conversion kit for AKs?

I know Ceiner says he makes a 22lr conversion kit, but as far as I can tell they he has never made one for production.

You cannot change the upper of an AK. Besides why would you want one when there are so many other .22 rifle options out there?

for 200 you can buy a ruger 10/22 or spend a little more for a SR-22. You can also get the krinker plinker kit for the 10/22....

There have been lots of different 22LR conversions which don't require someone to change an upper.

I don't need to change the upper on an AR to shoot 22LR from my AR.

I would love a krinker plinker kit (300 bucks), but can't just justify the cost.. Though i do have a 10/22 which i have the muzzlelite bull pup stock, tapco t6 stock, and more recently the archangel stock for.

You don't NEED a 16 inch barrel to get full velocity from the 22LR.
A Ceiner type unit with a 3-6 barrel would do it.

The kits have a barrel sleeve, though I also have never seen one.
I bought a WASR 22 that has been perfect, cleaned it and changed the furniture and run it with BDM mags. I'm happy to answer questions.

You got to love that Ciener customer service

I would go the GSG AK route.

I've never thought about it, but how about the AK74, in 5.45x39? I think has a 1:10 twist, .22 average is 1:16, I think, but 1 :10 for heavy sub sonic (60 gr). I think the .22 has a .223 diameter, and the 5.45, .220? Seems like a fairly easy conversion, unless Im missing something.
