I just bought 1000 rounds of the new Silver Bear 223. The cases are now nickel plated and feel VERY SLICK! For the prices that they are charging for it (about $230/1000 delivered) it seems like a very decent option. I have not been able to test fire any of it yet.
Has anyone else tried this new stuff yet? I am NOT talking about their laquer coated ****.

It just keeps getting better, don't it?
I must be weak in my google-fu... I paid $280/1,000 Wolf shipped but it's the 62 grain if that makes any difference. I have 500 rounds of the Silver Bear, looks and appears like the Wolf stuff, but just with nickel plated cases so it looks all silver and shiny instead of that brown lacquer case.

I've shot a bunch of Silver Bear in my AR and a bolt gun and always had excellent results. It is one of my favorite ammo.

Trick to shooting Silver Bear is to wipe the cartridges down with oily rag. Never had an issue after that.

Good to know. Is that because they are shipped in cosmoline?

Actually, the ones I had issues with had some sort of rough white powder on them that would make the case get completely stuck in the chamber. You had to literally BEAT them out of the chamber with a rod from the other end. Jammed up 3 different rifles on the range.

Once you wipe them down with an oily rag and then dry them with a clean one, they feed absolutely problem free.(At least in my experience).

Zinc. The Russian Bear ammo uses zinc washed cases.
