I just got back from a 3 day Carbine course and this is what I used. Didn't skip a beat. I got it on sale from ammo to go. You won't be disappointed.

I've bought 3K of 75 & 55 grn Tap training from GT Distributors, I picked up to save shipping and paid $305 per 1K. Has been very reliable and 75 Tap training is shooting on par with my real TAP 75 bthp rounds.

I've shot a fair amount of their 75 grain training ammo, and it has been a great performer at a very reasonable price. I'm kind of sorry to see the secret is getting out.

I love it. Shot about 350rds the other day no problem. Just make sure you clean up afterwards, waiting a few days makes things harder than if you clean up right away.

Are you speaking generally, or are you saying this ammo isn't all that clean?

I'm speaking about Hornday Tap Steel Cased Training ammo, so this ammo specifically. Like any other steel cased ammo it is going to allow more fouling into the chamber, but since this ammo is made with Hornady powder, if cleaned up soon after your range session it is easy to clean. Leave it for a few days, and more scrubbing is needed.

All in all great practice ammo, and I love it. 1000rnds out the door for $300, as it does cost about $40 to ship, being 30lbs and all. Hard to beat that.

Steel cased ammo doesn't expanded under heat and pressure like brass does. Event though its a tiny difference, it is a difference. With the slightly larger gap in the chamber, more fouling is let in.

Of the steel cased ammo's though, I prefer the Hornady line because while the casings are steel cased (some claim they are wolf), the powder, primer and bullet are Hornady, making for an overall better quality steel cased round.

If you are running drills or doing CQB work with an M4 style rifle, accurrized match ammo isn't necessary for practice.

I believe they're buying the cases from Barnaul, the guys who make Brown/Silver/Golden Bear ammo. Other than that your info is correct to the best of my knowledge.
