Yeah, and they want you to keep your guns locked up in a safe AND disassembled. :upeyes:And yet according to anti-gunners only the police are responsible enough to own weapons.
Typically, all it takes is a barrel swap.It stated in the article the guns were used with training ammunition (simunition). Are they easily converted as mentioned in the article?
That's all with the MP-5? I've used the Blue Glock 17 for Sims and the entire weapon is different.Typically, all it takes is a barrel swap.
The purpose built guns are completely different, but most of the conversion kits are just a different barrel, and possibly bolt/magazine depending on weapon and type of sims used. On most of the 9mm kits I have seen, the conversion is just a barrel swap. Here is the Simunition conversion kit for MP5s. Looks like it's just a barrel and a few tools to me.That's all with the MP-5? I've used the Blue Glock 17 for Sims and the entire weapon is different.
I've used an M4 with sims too, but didn't take it down to take a look at the internals.
The two types of M4s I have used for Simunitions are easily convertable. The first type was just an upper and bolt change to the blue 9mm upper. At Silver Flag we used our issed M4s with no modification to fire 5.56 simunitions. That's all with the MP-5? I've used the Blue Glock 17 for Sims and the entire weapon is different.

I've never looked into what is required to change the barrel in an MP5. Knowing H&K's engineering, though, I'm not surprised that it would be a pain.An MP5 barrel change is not going to be easy. When we had them our armorers had to send a few to Germany for barrel issues. I suspect LAPD SWAT might have someone on hand who can do it since they probably have at least 50 of them to maintain and it would make it worth their while.
SOMEBODY SAY AMEN!:rofl::rofl:And yet according to anti-gunners only the police are responsible enough to own weapons.
