    Hi,

I know that there a lot of Porsche fans here. For only $425,830 this beauty can be yours as it is not allotted to anyone yet.

Our Porsche dealer is the largest between Virginia and Manhattan. They occasionly get some extra goodies this being one of them. You gotta love the $100,000 above MSRP market adjusted value.

At 425k you would think that they could do a little better than a Sharpie.

The list of cars I'd pick over this for $425K is very, very long.

I'm thinking if you walked in with $425,800 cash they would knock that $30 off. Just a guess.

$425,000 and it doesn't even have a towing hitch.

I was thinking Tysons Corner, then I found out I was correct by the sticker.

I would much rather have a REAL Porsche (993) like this one - for a LOT less money. :p

That was the 4th one. The first 3 were already allotted and sold.

Long ago and far away I was in the "exotic car" service field. One service we provided was a Prepurchase Inspection. This involved all the niceties like compression checks, shakes, rattles and take the whole car apart and look at all the pieces. There was a phenomenon that involved a lot of the higher performing cars but especially Porsches. ( out of ten late models for sale had well done professional repairs to body work or suspesion. This almost always tyraced back to some rising star of industry or as we were near DC, some other rising *. The Porsche was a yardstick of dick measuring and our rising stars would celebrate happy hour and try to emulate one of the F! jocks of the era and stick said yardstick into a guard rail or ditch or what ever it took. After getting it repaired with or without insurance those with some sense or a family member with sense decided the bloody thing was dangerous. (one of the few instances where its the "instrument thats dangerous" not the individual:(). Anyhow the dick yardstick was on the block soon after. Like I said about 9 out of 10.

It's funny that you say that. As I had mentioned in another post I had the opportunity to attend the unveiling of the F8 at the Italian Ambassador's residence and then the good fortune to be able to drive it on a very nice test drive for about 20 minutes.

As much as I love Porsches there is no question that in that price range I would get an F8. Of course the actual price for that Porsche is a 100,000 less than what they're asking whereas the actual price for the F8 with decent options is in the 4s. While the Speedster is a very collectible car and will likely hold its value well and eventually increase and the F8 will certainly decrease in the short term and likely in the long term performance wise there is just no competition - the F8 just utterly annihilates the Speedster.

Because it is likely that the F8 will be the last of the non-hybrid Ferrari super cars perhaps over time even the standard version will hold its value relatively well.

I should add that I think any short term appreciation for the Speedster would be eaten up by the 100000 over MSRP that some will be paying for this.

I've been able to drive all manner of 911s, the GT3, 3 RS and I can say without question that the F8 just utterly blows them all away in every respect performance wise. The 2RS is certainly a different story especially with respect to acceleration. I know some folks who have driven the 2 RS and while it's an absolute rocket acceleration wise I don't think that the handling would touch that of the F8 which is just utterly insane.

I do love that the Speedster has a manual transmission. I like them so much better than PDK for sheer enjoyment of driving

Think I'll just keep my 2019 911 Carrera S Cabrio and use the extra $275,000 to buy a boat, or a cabin or maybe as a downpayment on a Manhattan mistress. ;)
