I have a 10/22 from the late 70's. It is an amazing platform, amazingly accurate and absolutely dependable. The only mod has been the BX trigger and that happened at Christmas of THIS year. I love this weapon.
It has killed many squirrels and rabbits but now just clangs targets and punches holes in paper.....oh yes....and makes me SMILE.
Mine has a 1" 4X scope that I can use with both eyes open, but if I had it to do all over again I would mount a RD and be done with it. Out to 100yds the RD is all you need. I have a Bushnell TRS25 on my AR and have never looked back. Quality piece and very affordable.
