Thinking of trading my 17 for a Gen 4 19, but not sure it would be worth it.17 is in very good condition.Any ideas as to what I should get for it if I traded it at local shop?

Ya won't get much......better to save the money and buy the new one.

You can always sell the old later if you want to.

Not to mention that Gen 4 19's aren't around yet. RTF2 maybe?

Keep it or sell it here. The 2nd Gen frames are great! Some of the 2nd Gen
Glocks sell for the price of a new Glock. Don'e ask me how I know.:whistling:

    I recently aquired a 2nd Gen G19,.....LOVE it!

Keep the 17! They could put a pic of that next to reliability in the dictionary. Lately, from what i've been reading, you might want to keep that because they don't make them like the used to.

The only reason I like my second generation pistols more than my first generation ones is that there are more models built during the second generation. If they'd have made G20s and G21s on the first generation frame, I'd be all over that.

Someone will pay for the G17--or keep it. Either way, I say it's worth something.

I don't think any of them are built better or worse than another generation of frames. I just prefer the second generation. I don't mind the third, but I figure I'll put my fingers where I want them rather than in the third gen's grooves.

Regional variation will effect trade-in. In W.WA, trade w/ stock sights is about $300-$350. Also, condition assessments can be subjective, differing between seller and buyer.

I'd get the G19, assuming it fits your hand. Does everything the G17 does, but it's smaller.
