ar-15 assault style. Is that like the opposite of an ar-15 sporter version? :dunno:

I already have each of those guns, except not sure about an "assault style" AR, maybe thats one that has a shoulder thing that goes up.
I do remember after the shooting in AZ one of the greasy local gun show vendors raised their price on 33rd Glock mags from $40 to $60.

I would like to think its more of a "oh crap, better get one now before they're banned" scenario.

it disturbs me how people on gun forums become almost obsessed with the guns used in these spree shooting tragedies.

why are the gun makes and models so important to people?

I don't think it's so important to us per se, it's more important that the MSM correctly identifies them to the gen public. An AK isn't a shotgun!

You ever been to a corvette forum, and saw a thread with corvette crashes?

Yep Crashes are tragic, and yep, they ask the make/model/year of the car anyways. Does that disturb you too? :crying:

Wrong question. The right question is: Why are they so important to the left wing media?

If someone uses a car to run over people (and yes, it happens) do they make a big deal out of the brand or type?

"the gunman had four weapons: two 40-caliber Glock handguns, a Remington 870 single-barrel pump shotgun and a Smith & Wesson AR-15 assault-style rifle"

At least it was written correctly and objectively.

"A graduate student with dyed red or orange hair who told police he was the Joker"

And we should be worried about what kind of guns he used?

crashes are accidents or just dumb mishandling by the driver. spree shootings are malicious, usually planned, and are intended to take human lives. there is a huge fracking difference between the 2 circumstances.

I've also heard a news report that the shooter had a "massive clip for the assault rifle" and "buckets full of ammunition".

I think the boost in sales of those guns is more due to fear that they will be restricted by some knee jerk anti-gun politician. Think "pre-ban" and how they commanded a high price after the ban.

Agreed. It's embarrassing. The victims should be what is on our minds.
