I don't have these in front of me so I thought I would ask the experts. Will the +2 extensions that come on the 33rnd 9mm mags fit the the G19 15rnd mag??

I have about 6 33rnd mags and need a few 17rnd for a shoot this weekend and don't want to go purchase more G17 mags-- thanks

My experience with +2 extensions on Glock factory 15-round magazines was that they would not hold the slide open after the last round was fired. I did not have this problem with Glock factory 17-round magazines, just with the 15-rounders.

I have done it on a lot of G19 15 round mags and they did fine. They hold the slide open after the last round every time..

What gun are you shooting?

I could be mixed up - but I don't think you can use a 15 round mag - even with a +2 extension in a G17.

So I will assume you are shooting a G19 - why not just shoot the 15 round or 33 round mags?

I am shooting a G19. I have 2 G17 mags for it but need 5. If I can get away with adding a +2 base to my 15rnd G19mags then I will do that. Will be akward to draw from a holster with a 33rnd mag. The shoot has a few strings of 17rnds fired with mag changes. Need 17rnds so the 15rnds won't work.

Once when shooting in a 15 round division I added plus two to a couple of my 13 round mags. That night every one I tried failed. The gun wouldn't pick up the first round, so I dropped the mag and loaded the next one on my belt. As the full mag hit the floor the extension popped off and rounds went every where. The spring and follower were also shot out of the magazine. The second mag had the same problem, and again, it blew apart when dropping onto a concrete floor (fully loaded). I put the original floor plates back on for the next stage and had no more problems. Needless to say, I don't trust them and would never consider putting one on a self-defense gun.
