    So I was saving for a 17.5.
I handled a G45 at the LGS today. I liked it.
I have a 19x currently and like it.
So my next one will be another 19x or a G45. Sorry G17 you have been bumped. LOL
So would you pay more for the 19x? How much more?
I will change the sights out to what I want.
I like the mag release button on the 19x.
Does color matter in durability with the NDLC finish? Is the black more durable or is the tan?
    Your thoughts

    Both almost same finishes.

    Mag releases are interchangeable.

Get one of each. I've got both and like both. Can't go wrong with either.

Really like both my 19X's. One with TLR-7 for bedroom and one in kitchen.
Edit: just turned one of the 19's into a loaded 43.

I bought my 19X a week before the G45 was announced. If I could do it again, I’d more than likely still have the 19X. I like the color. The mag thing kind of frustrates me. Why would Glock change the g$&@%#m baseplate?! Especially now that the feature they were designed in conjunction with will probably quietly go away. C’mon, man!

The color has always been a deal breaker for me in the 19x, personal preference thing, I prefer black/blued handguns.

    19X slide is gripperier
    G45 slide is slipperier
    Relative to each other

The extended (slightly) mag catch can be had for 5 bucks or so from many sources. It is one of the few parts that is the same from Gen 4. Easy install and I do that part to all my Glocks.

Fun shooters ... I shoot these crossovers better and faster than any Glock I’ve had previously.

    I like them both ... A lot!

I dontdhave much interest in either, but if I had to get one, it would absolutely be the G45. I don't like the tan one at all

I kinda like the unique appearance of the 19x., and if I ever have to play in the Sandbox, it will be harder to spot. (That ain't gonna happen, but I still insist "Your Glock is NOT a fashion statement".(

    Love both. Have both.
Both are sporting Ameriglo Agent sights made for gen4 guns. Both also have TLR-7s. I immediately changed the baseplates on the 45 to gen4 ones so all my 9mm mags will fit both guns.

    Both were blue label guns.

We own both and agree 100%.

If forced to choose just one though, it'd without a doubt be the 19X.

If I had to fathom a guess I would say that the frame was designed military use and the lip in the front of the frame protects the magazine from being caught, hung up on, or pulled out by vines, wires, or vegetation. A soldier may have to crawl around and having a magazine ripped out would be a bad thing.

I would not even pay blue label price to be brutally honest. I know the 19X has it's fan base, I'm simply not one of them and would not pay more for a gun that gives you less options than a regular G19.

That's logical but the Sig P320 has the same issue with the magazine protruding, though the gap may be slightly less.
