I recently picked up a new 19C and I put 50 rounds though it. Upon cleaning it I noticed that inside the ports on the frame the finish was silver and looked worn away. It was easily scratched and left marks. Is this normal in a compensated model? Thanks

I will check my 19c later today and let you know. Mine is about 2 years old with at least 1000 rounds through it. I don't recall there being any discoloration of the slide finish.

Thank you! I called glock and they told me it was normal, but I only shot 50 rds also the barrel has a machining mark at the end that is unfinished. They wouldn't pay for shipping to them until I asked to speak to a supervisor.

Take a pic with your phone that is in focus, then zoom in on it and post it here. I think you will find that it is just common fouling.

As soon as I get home I will. I thought that could be it but the finish is silver and easily scratched.

Ports look the same to me. Yours just looks like it was just taken with a flash. I also believe that's just fouling on your barrel.

The ports on mine are silver in those areas it's hard to capture with a camera. Also barrel is has to capture too there is excess metal it is not fouling look very close.

I was not trying to come across as a wise ass, sorry...let not your heart be troubled...your 19c is A OK. I purchased a FUN preface gun years ago and it looks about the same. Keep in mind these are Glocks. Ugly is as ugly does. No rust, no jams...no problems.

I am no newbie to glock this is my 11th I have owned. I called glock and they said they would refinish it and they sent me a prepaid shipping label so I'm not out anything. Thats why I wanted to get some input as to whether I should just send it in.

Take another picture without the flash, the "silver" I think you're seeing is a reflection off the carbon buildup on the port. If you look closely at the other guys pic you can see the buildup in the area I think you're talking about.

It is not being produced from the flash gun is clean and still has silver finish. I decided to say screw it the outside finish is nice and just shoot the S*** out of it. :2gun:

Both of my "C" models look the same way after extensive use. Normal.
