My father didn't want to miss work. He also didn't want to get the car stuck either. He walked 4 miles to work that day.

I was 12 years old living in Northern VA- they had to add 30 mins to each school day thereafter to make up for lost time.

I remember reading about it and seeing scenes on the news if that counts.

I didn't even know it was happening because it was finals week in college. I didn't even know it happened until the movie came out.

There are some serious gaps in my memory during my college years. Not all of it due to beer.

Yeah, that was a doozie here.

Its pretty cold now, too. I'm gonna have to throw on gloves and heavy pants to ride my motorcycle to dinner. Have a good evening! :wavey:

    Win.

We couldn't open the upstairs windows on the front of the house because of the drift.

My friend had a snowmachine. We had the run of the town for a couple weeks.

Yep...for sure that was a decent one. Was the only time I couldn't get the pick-up and plow down to the end of the road. A buddy with a bucket loader had to dig out some of the drifts where the road gets close to the lake before I could get back on pavement.

But we got a pretty good snow storm here on April 1, 2011. I remember that one because my new boat on the trailer in the driveway was full of snow. I was trying to figure out if I could pull the trolling motor from the bow mount and install my ice auger.

We missed it. Too Far East.

We got the April Fools Storm of. . . 97 or so. A foot of snow in April sucks. 18-24 is worse. It was short sleeve weather the day prior.

    1991. Hurricane Hugo.

I don't think your storm holds a candle to it.

    I was in Korea.
I remember making a ton of money digging people out in '78. Bought my first digital watch, you had to push a button and it would show a red LED time, with that money. Wore it to bed and found out I'm allergic to the plastic they used in the band the next morning.

Tree fell on my house in '93. It was only the second time I ever saw a "thundersnowstorm".

I marched in the St. Paddy's Day parade that day. They said the parade was cancelled but the Sheriff said "We're marching anyway." Got stranded at the hotel after the parade and partied all night. I'll never forget that event. tom. :kilt:
