Me too,.38Super, especially when my 1911 is an open pistol. Flat-shootin no recoil with 27 rounds ammo capacity sure hit everytime you pull the trigger with OKO or C-more optics, hehehe :supergrin:

for practicality, I'll choose the .45. I dont choose caliber for fun. Every caliber in my list has a practical and supply related purpose for me. But does not mean that the calibers not in my list are bad calibers. It just means that calibers in my list are likely the ones in plentiful supply in any eventuality.

The FBI tried using the 10mm but eventually settled for the .40. The 10mm's recoil is not for everybody. Increased grip size is also a disadvantage to agents with small hands. They got a reduced load which is almost the same as a .40 S&W.

I have a single stack with a Nowlin ramped stainless barrel, shoot 124gr 165+ power factor from it, less felt recoil than 45acp to me.

I also have a SV hi-cap 38 Super comp gun, C-more, 140 and 170mm mags.

.45 ACP. Last friday shooting kami ng kaibigan ko sa Armscor. Meron siyang SIG na 9 mm, G21 ang dala ko. Me nakita kaming wounded na palaka na palaboy laboy sa range. Binaril niya ng 9 mm, sapul sa likod. Through and through. Tumalon-talon pa nang matagal-tagal ang palaka. Siguro pag tao yun uwi muna bahay, kuha itak para itakin kami. Kung ayaw niyo maniwala tanong niyo si Rommel, yung homeboy dun. Binaril ko ng .45, di tinamaan. Binaril ko ulit, di na naman tinamaan. Binaril ko pa ulit, di na naman tinamaan. Binaril ko na naman, di na naman tinamaan. Tumalon-talon pa. Binaril ko nang isa pa, tumihaya na ang palaka. Nilapitan ko, parang walang dagdag na tama pero tumalsik eh.

Moral of the story: Tunog pa lang ng .45 nakakatakot na, yung near miss ng .45 ay nakakamatay.

Mag .45 ka na lang siguro Sir.

Madali tumama Center of Mass sa G21 ko. Pati follow through manageable. Malayo kasi yung palaka nung barilin ko (baka kasi balikan ako nung bala eh) saka kulay lupa siya, naka-camouflage hirap makita. Pero kung tao yun snake bite siya ng .45.

Testing ko din JHP sa .45. Lata ng pintura na nilagyan namin ng mga carton at papel sa loob. Laki ng exit hole. Local na JHP lang ang ginamit ko (mahal kasi ng CORBON eh). Sunod hanap ako ng lumang yellow pages, basain ko tapos testing ko ulit ang ballistics ng FMJ at JHP.

i have a para in 40cal, i use it in match and sometimes carry. pero the gun in my bed side is my norinco 1911A1, with all fmj armscor rounds, still have plan to at least have 1mag of jhp for minimal penetrations (safety purposes) for home defense use. my issue hs2000 9mm is just stock in my cabinet, planning to use it in production match.:thumbsup:
