Are you getting an original Colt in .38super? Ganda niyan if orig na Colt. Collector's item na.

But if you can get original .40 mags or have a smith who is knowleadgeable in converting .45 mags to use .40cal ammo, i'd go with a SS in .40cal. otherwise, stick with the .45cal

.45 na. Dami ka mabibiling bala (makakahingi ka pa sa ibang enterprising military personnel)at dami ka mabibiling magazine (makakahingi ka rin minsan).

Bullet placement plays a big factor here. A friend of mine who was doing payroll in his farm in the late 80's shot a BG who was out to kill him with a Super .38 loaded with 124 gr Silvertips. One shot to the chest and the guy just stiffened and dropped according to him. Distance was about 15 feet.

The police had to verify a couple of times to him if he really used a .38 Super. The exit wound was almost the size of a child's fist.

The ballistics of the two are about the same (in ft lbs). 9mm was added since it is also a popular round in the Philippines:

a) American Eagle ammo FMJ

Muzzle 25 yds 50 yds

.38 Super 416 377 346

.45 ACP 404 389 374

9mm 124 gr 364 330 303

Sorry, tried to edit it in table form, but to no avail.

One thing that we should consider is that the license for a .38 Super is cheaper than the license of a .45 ACP.

medyo out of topic, i just don't want to start a new thread.

has anyone have a compact (officer's).45 1911? how's the recoil? i have glock 30 once and it has the same barrel length and i find the recoil manageable but i think it's because of the polymer frame and dual captive recoil spring.

45 na, if possible colt mk4. kung 38 super kasi limited ang choices mo sa ammo sa 45 marami kang choices, kahit fmj lang lamang pa rin sa 38 super.

Got to try my friend's Officer's .45. Masakit sa kamay. The Commander is a whole lot better.

una, mura ang bala, mura mag pa reload, low pressure round ito kaya masusulit mo talaga ang brass mo.

saka maski mas unti' ang capacity nang 45 na mag, yun ang motivation mo to make every shot count.

just my opinion, pero either way, nasa humahawak yan nang bakal, diba.
