I will start by saying I am new here and I recently purchased a Springfield 1911 loaded micro compact. After looking everywhere for parts I realized that if you dont have a standard size 1911 you are going to have problems finding aftermarket parts. So, to help out myself I measured my grips to make sure of the size so I could send in for aftermarket grips, now I dont know If I am just slow or what but it seems to me that there are differences in each model even between officer, micro compact, defender? Here is a photo of my grips with measurements. If anyone could add to this thread with helpful info for other models that would be great. Thanks,Mike
Grip length (height) is the difference. Springfield Micro's and Ultra's use "Officer" sized grips. Champion's use full size the EMP uses it's own grip, which is close to the Officer size. there should be a shortage of grips available.
The Springfield EMP is the only odd-ball, as the frame is shorter (front to back) than all other 1911-pattern pistols, but other than that there are only two sizes of grips. Officers and Government Model. Officers grips fit: Colt; Officers, Defender; Agent Kimber; Utlra, Compact Springfield; Micro, Compact All other models use the Govenment Model grips.
i sold all my Springfield grips(both GI & cross cannon). Springfield factory grips width are narrower.
No idea, haven't owned a PT1911, however I do know the LLama guns have their grip screws in a different spot.
