If you were to buy a 1911 which you would own/shoot without mods for the long term, which brand/model would you choose and why?

Saw a Kimber Team Match at MCS today and it looks great for a keeper. Could it be worth its price at 100k plus?

without mods? medyo mahirap yata yung colt na walang beavertail anyway for 100k ang mahal naman nung kimber eh yung colt 70k lang. you might want to checkout the various models of s&w1911 at twinpines if i'm not mistaken they even have the commander size with a light weight scandium alloy frame for around 60k, and the other models medyo bihis na din, me novak sights, extended ambi, fron and rear serrations and beavertail.

    my ideal 1911 is this.....

but its not stock, its a custom built stainless caspian slide and frame and it didn't cost 100k

Used to own 4 guns before buying my Kimber Compact CDP. Binenta ko lahat para lang mabili yung CDP for 92k. Now, it's 110k na ata sa Nashe. It's definitely a keeper. I use it for range n all day carry. 28oz lang n 4". Lightest among its counterparts.

Ngayon pala, 3 na ulit pistols ko! hehehe! Sakit na ata to...

the sti legacy looks good also, since marami na dealer ng sti dito baka mas mura pa ito kesa sa kimber, definitely the small parts are better in this one.

How much is 100,000 pesos in USD right now?

If I were going to buy one "off the rack" as a keeper, I'd either go with and STI Trojan or a Springfield Armory TRP. I have no idea how much either would cost there!

cousin Joe: $1 is approx. P53 now. Firearms usually cost 3-4x the US retail prices back here.

The Trojan sells for around 85k

Personally, I like STI Duty One and its accessory rail. Gives me a chance to add a few bling-blings.... :)

BUT... I shoot IPSC and one thing to consider come next year would be a probable elevation of our Single Stack category into a full-pledge division. It will be an agenda in the Gen Assembly this September.

    http://ipsc.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=3831

It surely does affect my future purchase. I don't want my S/S to be a safe or range queen. The USPSA current Provisional S/S Division is quite restrictive in terms of bull barrel and accessory rails.

sir e.c., what finish did you have done for your gun? magkaiba ba yung finish ng slide at frame?

    i'm building a 1911 from parts myself.

it's my BBB 1911. Big, Bad, Black 1911!

even the grips will be black rosewood.

    thanks.

For a .45 ACP full size and commander, I'd get a Norinco and put good quality parts in it (trigger group, mag well, beavertail, good sights, Wolff Springs).

For a Super .38, I'd get Twin Pines' Super .38 Commander and do the same treatment as I would do with the Norinco and put a good quality ramped barrel in it, such as a Bar Sto.

If I had tons of money, I'd buy an STI Ranger in .45 ACP and nice 1911 in .38 Super.
