Thinking about Heinie Slant Pro's for my 1911 or BoMar adjustable sights. Anyone have experience with either of these that can offer some positive or negative feedback. I won't be holstering this gun, mostly for indoor/outdoor range use. Thanks
Yeah, you have to find a retro sight of some sort.
Harrison makes a good one.

I've had many a staked in sight fly off my gun to say dovetail is the way to go EXCEPT-......
Do you mean a real actual US Army issued Colt?I have a Colt GI.
The smallish sights aren't bad for target shooting. They make for some fine sight alignment. It's the combat shooting that the sights aren't well suited for because you need big, highly defined sights for quick sight picture.I have a Colt GI. I think you made a pretty good point of not modifying my 1911. I just tend to shoot my buddies 1911 more accurately because the front sight on his 1911 is much clearer than the sight picture on my GI. I'm sure with enough practice I can get my groupings on my Colt a bit better. Seems to be the best idea is just to buy an another gun.
Like everyone says, it depends on if you're talking about an original. IF not then you can look at a Dawson Fiber Optic front, not many sight pictures are clearer or faster, although a small gold bead works REALY well too. Just depends on how far you want to shoot.Thinking about Heinie Slant Pro's for my 1911 or BoMar adjustable sights. Well then personally, I'd have the slide dovetailed up front for a Fiber optic sight and some sort of ledge sight in the rear.I bought a Colt 1911 GI 80 (100 years) at my local gun store. I think it was a 2010 production.
