This has probably been done before but I would like honest opinions.

If you could pick one 1911 and money was no object what would it be??

(in the works) A Les Baer Hardball gun:

    No rollmarks

    vertical rear serrations

    10-8 NM rear sight

    gold bead front

    Colt thumb safety

    short trigger

    serrated frontstrap

(also in the works) A Springfield Custom built exactly like a Mil-Spec but with a 10-8NM rear and gold bead front.

I love the looks of a basic 1911 and the fitting of the semi-customs, so I'm having two of 'em built to my specs.

The Baer was ordered as a NM Hardballer with no sight cuts, serrations, checkering or rollmarks. It finally came in, so when I get back home I'm going to send it off to be completed.

The Springfield is being built by their Custon Shop. (still not sure why I ordered it)

I would have to say Browning's original 1911, in the 1890's? Of course is this even possible, no...but that wasn't the question. :whistling:

Sorry but I hate gold on a gun.

Ted Yost Signature built on a nice Colt. I dreamed about something like this for years, and just got mine last summer. It was worth the wait...

That's the only thing you don't like about that gun? :D

I have a Smith and wesson 1911 SKU 108284, with everything I need. not sure another 2000 spent would be any better for me, so I'm happy right now. BUT, you pay your money and take your choice. Find your holy grail and try to be satisfied. The smith does it for me. All the bells and whistles and Gold Cup accurate, all I need.

Due to my somewhat limited knowledge of 1911's I am still liking the Guncrafter No-name... of course seeing as that is what I am saving for currently could have something to do with it..

My dream gun is 6" Les Baer, with 38super/9mm barrels. Chromed of course, w/1 1/2" guarantee. A 10/8 rear sight also.

    Also perhaps an Infinity Model.

Defiantely an SVI model...you get a ton of options to truely customize your handgun, especially since you may end up spending 4K for one depending on options. You may find a lot more expensive models out there but I am assuming you want a high quality shooter and not a safe queen.

    I already have it.
    A Colt Gold Cup.

All other mean very little to me, and that included the high dollar customs.

I'd like to have an original Singer, but I'd settle for a Volkmann. :wavey:

I'm happy with my Customs from Infinity, Morris, EGW, Liebenberg, and Yost. I can't imagine having a 1911 better than these.

Others customs can rival, but these are five of the best in the world, as far as I'm concerned. I love each one.
