I hate the wooden grips on my RIA 1911. so i want to replace them with something a bit better.

I like the way these look:

but do not know the model or brand of them. I'm looking for some brown or tan, maybe even OD green.

Either aluminum with texture or non-metal, still with some texture.

    Any suggestions?

Check out VZ Grips. John makes a blasted black canvas micarta that provides an excellent grip and has a green tint. I prefer his original Gatorbacks style. Great hold but not scratchy or too aggressive. He's got several other styles also.

These are great all around grips for competition, carry, plinking. And they are pretty good looking too.

Personally, I wouldn't pay $70+ for some slabs for my 1911s. Go to the Hogue auction site, they offer nicely checkered wood grips in several woods for less than $30, JMO.
