i showed my gf my new springer and she likes the idea of cocked and locked
she thinks she might want one in either 9 or 40
although im gonna get her to try mine in 45
so does anyone offer one in either of the above calibers? reasonably priced?
    like RIA?
she shoots her glock23 pretty good and i think she is gonna really like my champion so this question might be moot
    anyways
    thanks

the 9mm 1911's are easy to shoot.
you can get a RIA Tactical for $425, STI Spartan for $625, Springfield Loaded for ~$850, STI Trojan or Ranger II for $999, Springfield EMP for $1050, Dan Wesson Guardian for $1400

The nines have less recoil and are cheaper to shoot; the .40 S&Ws make bigger holes. Both rounds operate at 35,000 pounds of pressure as oposed to the .45 ACP's 21,000.

I'd say .40 EMP. Especially since she already has a G23.

I had a 9mm SA 1911 Target and sold it since it would not group better than 4+ ionches at 50 ft. I replaced it with a Dan Wesson PM-9 which provides ca 1 inch groups at that distance. The SA was very relioable but i could not tolerate the lack of accuracy. I also shoot an STI Trojan in 40 S&W. Both the DW PM-9 and STI Trojan have been reliable and accurate with excellent factory triggers.

A RIA 9mm would be a great choice, priced right and factory ammo is affordable. Recoil is very mild (I have a convertible 1911 9mm/.40). If you get an inaccurate one (it can definitely happen), have a match barrel bushing fitted. Not a lot of money and it can make a noticeable improvement.

RIA also has some of the best customer service in the business.

I've gotta add my approval of the Rock Island also. That, or for higher end, the EMP. Just don't get one with a flat trigger. ;)

i have a Spartan and it has been flawless, buddy has the RIA and it runs like a champ as well, just not as nice of a trigger. The EMP is amazing!! I wish they checkered the front strap though so i dont have to pay to have it done when i pick mine up!

    Not a big fan of the 40's unless it's a 10mm.

Get a 9mm. Cheap shooting, less recoil, and you can stoke it with hot 9mm that equal most factory 38 Super.

I have a Wilson CQB and SA EMP in .40 and love em both. My other half has taken over my EMP 9. To be honest, I like 1911s in just about any caliber.

    EMP 9mm FTW.

    Flat triggers are for men.

So does the EMP come with the Girl Scout Flat Trigger Option or do you have sell a certain number of boxes of Do-Si-Do and Caramel DeLite cookies to get one?

    ;)

You sure know a lot about their line of products.

Do they get their skirts from you or vice-versa?

You haven't been assaulted in the work place and at Wally World by marauding Girl Scout Mothers force-peddling Girl Scout Cookies? A concession to buy a few boxes of Thin Mints is the only way to get them out of the attack mode.
