Is ther any 9mm compacts out ther?
The Kimber Solo isn't exactly a 1911, but it is very compact with similar controls. Springfield Armory has the EMP.
I have the Dan Wesson ECO, but lets call it a 1911 style firearm. ( haha)

The off duty, is very nice. Wonder how reliable it is.
I've seen varying opinions on STI products, have never fired any of them myself. The ones made by STI themselves get fairly good ratings. There is a cheaper version made in the Phillipines and (I think) assembled using STI parts.
I consider the 3" 1911's to be in the subcompact category. My choice there is the Colt Defender, hands down.
What about the Sig P938, I know its not traditional but close enough. I have the P238 and love it. It may be a little too compact as its pretty small.
I have an STI edge and love it but I have not shot their lower end compacts but if they are anything at all like the edge they should be nice
for a compact 9mm, I'd go with either an EMP or a Custom CCO build.
DW ECO or EMP9. But like prez said, the CCO is an awesome way to go.
I have family at STI, so I've shot nearly all of their firearms.
If you're willing to spend the money, the STI Shadow, Escort and Guardian are all nice for conceal ability.
Personally, I do not carry big money firearms. So I usually rotate between my Sig P938 and Sig P238. Both are very reliable and light weight.
I been looking for a Springfield EMP but seems everyone is backordered
Kimber Ultra Carry II comes in 9mm.
Colt New Agent/Defender family. Shoots OK, not as nice as a full size piece but that's to be expected.
I love my EMP!
I am hoping to get my newly purchased, used 938 to the range this weekend, but the OP must have been bought a ticket on my thought train. I am hoping to get a lightweight commander style frame and get a 9mm Commander (I never should have let my original Colt LW Commander get away)
