Going to pick up either a 19 or 26 strictly set up for competition. I'm leaning to the 19 only because I've got the 23 and getting accustomed to it. However, I've never shot a 19 but will this week.

What's the braintrust say between both? With what I've got now plus the 19 I can shoot pretty much every level except one.

I have a Glock 26 and a Glock 34. The differences are slight for me. Slow firing the Glock 26, I find that it has amazing accuracy potential.
My PPC score with the Glock 34 is nearly fifteen points higher than with the Glock 26 (one less point for every three rounds fired).
But, the Glock 26 is much more concealable and still very accurate and reliable.
Between a Glock 26 and a Glock 19, the differences are going to be less noticeable. For me, I believe when I'm rapid firing the G26, the extra muzzle flip of the smaller gun wears on me a bit and my score is affected. If the Glock 19 corrects that for you, then I'd say go with the Glock 19. If not, consider that the Glock 26 is more concealable.

Thanks Concealment is a nonissue. My EDC is a 30S or my Walther PPS M2. This is only for range work and competition.

What kind of competition? When I think competition and Glock, I think G34.

curious what division you can shoot with the 19 that is different than the 23?

in any event since they're the same size, considering getting the smaller-sized 26/27.

can also go the other way and get a 17 or 34.

Same division, 9 less costly to shoot and a bit softer than the 23 which is pretty snappy

In gssf ( I am a master class shooter) I have shot both a glock 19 and 26 for years. I reviewed my scores over about the last 20 matches and found the difference between my scores was one second total ( not per match but once the match scores were averaged) so no difference at all between the 26 and 19

Shoot both, I own both and haven't shot the 26 in over a year, you may love the 26 or hate it. G26 gets you into subcompact class, other than that for GSSF I don't see a lot of difference, you can shoot either in AM Civ, Competition, unlimited, etc. You just can't shoot the 19 in sub compact.

Now, if you want to max out classes, get a G30. That gets you a couple you can't get with either of the above.

Thanks Ron and I have a G30S, going to shoot both this week at the range. A friend has a large collection of Glocks.

I have both and find that I shoot the 19 better. I believe it is due to the longer sight radius and full grip. The last time I took a pistol class, I started with the 26 and on day 2 switched to the 19.

I was shooting the 26 well, but, when it came to the more precise shooting I found the I was more accurate with the 19. I was actually amazed to see the difference in my groups on day 1 vs day 2. While my groups weren't bad with the 26, they were much smaller with the 19.

Also, I found that I developed the dreaded Glock knuckle after shooting several hundred rounds on day 1 with the 26.

The midsize guns don't fit me well. I'd go 26 over 19.

I use a G17 and a G26 for IDPA ... Since I had an opportunity to use a G26 with Pierce extension grip and Glock 12 round magazines I have stayed with it for IDPA . True , long range accuracy can be a challenge - but for shorter and mid range targets I flat out excel with the G26 !! For me , the G26 has darn near achieved "cult status" for a reason !!

G30 will be legal in more divisions than either 9mm. The 26 legal in more than the 19. If interested buying for G ifSSF it'd be a 17 and of your options a 19.
If you have a 23 why not use it? You're not opening up a new area with the 19. Buy a 30 and open up HM, Sub, and MSub with the 23 and 30 you're good for all but one GSSF division.

Glock 26 because you can use Glock 17 magazines in the 26 and it becomes the same size as a Glock 19 using Glock 17 Magazines.

Since the 19 and 23 qualify for the same categories, I would get the 26 to provide more opportunity.

Between the 2, I prefer the 19. The hump on the backstrap of the 26 sits too high in the palm for me. Never could get to like the 26 or 27.

Since this is the Competition section, the 26 will allow you to shoot in subcompact. The 19 will not.

If you want to shoot in the most competitions, get a 30 and a 42 or 43. This will allow you to shoot in everything your occupation and gender will allow (Guardian and Girl Sidematch).
