From what I've read on here, the factory 19 barrel is not drop-in for a 23/32, like the 23/32 are for each other.

I saw a member in the parts for sale forum selling a 19c factory barrel, and he states it will work in a 23c or 32c in his add.

Out of curiosity, I swapped the barrel our of my spare 19 slide into my 23c slide, and it seems to fit/function fine; I did not chamber a round, but it feels no different than with the 23c barrel installed when racking the slide.

Is this combination possible? I opted to buy an entire G19 slide over an aftermarket conversion or factory 19 barrel as it was my understanding I could not do this.

Any input is appreciated. If it will work reliably, I might have a complete 19 slide for sale soon :wavey:

EDIT: I just cycled two rounds, both chambered and ejected with no issues.

I believe one of the GT members has done some testing on the G19 barrel in the G23/G32 pistols.

I believe the results were that it was less accurate, but functioned just fine.

Could be wrong, but I thought it was Desert Scout that figured this out.

Try a search on the user's handle, and put G19 in the other field...

You can shoot 9mm in a G23, but you need a conversion barrel; The G19 barrel may 'drop-in', but don't shoot it!

Of course you should use G19 mags; G17 mags will work and give you a few more rounds, but it will extend below the butt of the gun.

Correct! You need a "conversion" EFK,Barsto, Storm Lake, ect. The G23 slide has a hole for the .40 bbl larger than the std G19 bbl.

I'm not saying it cann't be done evidently it can. i get much better groups with my 9mm "conversion" bbl than I could get with a G19 bbl in my G23. It just stands to reason the lockup will be better and thus more accurate.

Can it be done yes.....is it the "Right" way to do it NO!

The outside diameter of the G32 and G23 barrels is larger than that of the G19 barrels.

Stop telling people to do something that can potentially screw up their guns, or cause them harm, most of us know better but there are a lot of new members that don't and will ill advised follow this VERY bad advice.
