I have an 1891 Argentine Mauser that my Dad traded someone a hunting camper for back in the sixties. My Dad died in 1970. The last time this rifle was fired was probably 30 years ago. My brother had it for a while but finally gave it to me because he doesn't hunt. I thought my Dad said it was a 30.06 but I have learned online that these rifles are 7.65 x 53 mm. He wasn't a reloader. The rifle is in really good shape. No rust and the stock looks great. I would like to clean the bore and take it to the range and fire it. I can't figure out how to remove the bolt action from the gun in order to clean the bore from the receiving end. I know some of you guys have these guns. Is it possible to remove the action?
