A friend asked me today if it is possible to install a G 17 slide on a G 19 frame. My immediate, know it all response was, "No they have different locking blocks ". I said you could put a 19 slide on a G 26 frame with or without a spacer to fill the slide/frame gap, but not what he asked. I was hoping one of you all could confirm or correct my response. Thanks.

You are correct. A '17' slide/barrel on a '19' frame will not work.

That is correct, a G17 slide will not fit a G19 frame, BUT.........

You can have your G17 frame (lower) custom refinished to a G19 lower and now you have the best of all worlds.
You can now use G19 mag's in your G17 and have the carry butt size of a G19. And yes it looks like this
