I like them all for different reasons. I carry a 26 and my SHTF sidearm is a G17 RTF. I don't have large hands, but the 17 fits my hand and point of aim better.

I got the G19 because I wanted the more compact size for CC. I will probably eventually get either a G21 or G30 if they come out with a Gen 5.

The Left is after semi-auto rifles because 99.98% of their owners are normal tax paying citizens.

Fortunately here in the USA, we don't allow the actions of criminals to limit the scope of rights recognized in the Bill of Rights. Anything a criminal can do with a weapon is already against the law and falls within the powers granted unto the States.

There is little difference in the two. The G17 would make a better duty pistol.

17 if for patrol. 19 if for plain clothes. You can do what I did for my duty gun, 17 with a chop job for 19 mags.

If you can’t afford to buy both the 17 and 19, then I’d recommend the 19X or 45.

I’ve carried and competed with the G17 since 1994, but last year switched over to the 19X/45.

Just recently sold the last of my 17s.

I think the distain from the left comes from a lack of experience/knowledge.

Most people aren't comfortable being honest about their own ignorance. Not me.

I'm totally fine with identifying and unpacking my stupidity. And not owning a gun and judging those who did was a mistake.

The anti-gunners I’ve debated and argued with do not have experience shooting guns. To them an “AK-16” is no different than a “9mm magnum.”

My ex-wife was against guns when we got married. We had several discussions about guns. Took her to some shooting ranges. One of the last things I did with her was sign over a .357 magnum S&W revolver to her.

I really don’t get the 19X or G45. If you’re going for the fullsize grip why not just get the rest of the gun?!?!?!? Seems back aswards to me. If they had made it with a full size slide and compact grip that would make more sense.

I have limo leftists in my extended family, with Ivy League pedigrees and high enough connections that they get invited to national events. What they talk about is confiscations. Which they call “involuntary buybacks after a grace period”. So no it’s not ARs and mods, it’s any type of firearm because “why would anyone in a civilized society need one”. So if they win, all bets are off anyway.

Between the two guns, I’d pick G17, just because I shoot it better and 19 isn’t all that small anyway, I prefer 26 for carry (which I also shoot better). But that’s a very subjective opinion.

Unfortunately, here in the real world, the Constitution and the rule of law is no longer relevant. You have elected members of Congress defending rioters and looters, you have an acting Attorney General of a large state saying arsons are good because “that’s how forests grow”, you have the former President openly admitting to using state security services to spy on political opponents, these are all people whose job it is to uphold the Constitution. And you have “the other” party largely doing nothing, quite obviously because they don’t really want to. Your 2A rights, or any other rights, are really non existent anymore.

I recently sold my gen 4 19 to my brother for a friggin steal (realized after I committed what they were selling on GB for) to buy a gen 5 17. Got the 17 and absolutely loved how it felt in my hand. I have large hands and the Gen 4 19 wasn't uncomfortable, but not comfortable either (I don't like finger grooves). I had instant sellers regret (it is a 19 after all and is iconic). So I found a gen 5 19 in stock at a seller (didn't pay high auction prices) and bought it right then and there. The Gen 5 19 fits my hands leaps and bounds better than the Gen 4 19.

To answer your question, get both! I'm glad I did! I love them both equally in their own way. The 19 is easier to conceal, but the 17 still feels better in my hand. Also, if you get both and have buyer regret, sell it for a huge profit-- election/pandemic year

The communist leftists will take any gun and gun right away that they can.

How can any 2nd amendment supporter align themselves with these socialist dirt bags? Unless you are just a gun owner and not a supporter of the 2nd.

Don’t you want to live in paradise? Don’t you love God ? Don’t you agree that anyone not serving the only true God is serving Satan ? What do we do with those who serve Satan?”

The extreme left is a religious cult where god was replaced by a political ideology. Therefore, anyone deviating from it is a heathen who has no rights and whose very existence is poisoning the society. And any lie is good because it’s all in the name of higher purpose. “We are not going after your gun rights, just some of them” is a blatant lie. And the truth comes out after a brief discussion. Because they can’t help but preach the Only Truth.

I just put money down on a gen 5 17. It will be joining my 2 Gen 5 34s and the 19. It's almost an investment but I won't be able to not shoot it. I handled the G 45. I didn't care for it. The balance felt weird.
