I loved the comments, but I was puzzled by someone with the screen name,

    "Anne Frank 1932"

    saying

"I can't imagine a situation calling for me or my family to be armed"

Not sure if facetious or serious:dunno:

One more rule. In a gunfight, there is probably no second place winner.

    Ignorance is bliss I suppose. Problem is;

You can have a gun, and go your entire life every day for years and years, and never need it.

But typically, you only get to need it and not have it...

    One time.

    :whistling:

If that was a serious comment, and this person really cannot imagine a situation where a gun would be needed?

    That's some sheltered life.

They forgot 1) bring a gun, 2) bring all your friends that have guns.

They were being cleverly sarcastic. Look at the commentor name. Google Anne Frank if you are not familiar with her story and horrible end.

Reminds me of the line from Lord of the Rings..."Those without swords may still die upon them."

They missed the first rule. Never bring a pistol....(bring a long gun).

Yes I was well aware of the story myself. Just wondering, not wanting to overestimate anyone's intelligence these days.

Given some of the things I've seen that pass for smart I avoid assumptions.

I agree with the cop. I believe they try their best to help and serve. They can only protect when they are in the right spot at the right time. If someone could tell them where that spot was, I'm convinced many of them would be there. To question their commitment is an affront.

Otherwise, the list is a good one. NEVER die willingly, fight to the death if necessary.

    E) Never say “I’ve got a gun.” If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the Glock's hammer being cocked.

    Funniest comment award:

Jefferson on Aug 15, 9:37 PM said:
@Alan: Jefferson didn't say "Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading."

    Yes, I did.

Oh my, I'd really like to think that there isn't anyone out there who doesn't know this story...

But I've learned not to be surprised by anything anymore.

    This I find fascinating.

Kinda like the pilot episode of "Walking Dead". BGs are approaching in the GTO. Our hero tells his Deputy to make sure his safety is off. Deputy complies. "click"

The deputy is holding a Glock.

    Fascinating.

Ive always lived by three short rules when it comes to fighting. Rule number 2: avoid every fight you can avoid. Rule number 3: when you cant avoid them , fight to win. Rule number 1: never go to a gun fight without your guns.
