That seems crazy? One box of 9mm ammo for $125?
I would have been tempted to ask that guy what else he was selling other than ammo.
Was he on medical marijuana?
Wow, just wow.
Was it the old Ranger SXT with the Lubalox coated bullets and brass cases? If it was, I can see why...
I would have offered to sell him some for $75.
I recall reading of a 50-round box of .380ACP selling for $100 on GunBroker at the height of the ammo frenzy last year.
Who knows, maybe the seller at the gun show has sold a box at that price previously.
I would have offered him $25-$30 for the box, considering that when ammotogo.com has it, which is pretty regularly, that's what it costs. As a matter of fact, I have a box of it that I will gladly take $100 for. You can't beat that deal
If it was the RA9SXT it is worth about 40-45.00 per box. RA9T is only worth half that price.
It was his special collectors edition. He isn't really interested in selling it. He isn't planning to shoot it. He's just holding on to it. It's special. It's collectible.
Oddly, if something costs a lot more than it should, and someone can afford it, it is appealing. People are stuck believing that if something costs more, it MUST be better. This is evident even on this board every time someone snubs the Gold Dot because it is cheaper than Golden Saber Bonded or PDX1 or Ranger Bonded, even though test results show it is just as good or better.
I have a couple dozen 20 round boxes of the original Balck Talon in 9mm,38 spl, 10mm and 45acp, wonder what he would want for a box of that???
And that is precisely the kind of moron that is dragging down gun shows.
I got an email for some 50 dollar 380 ranger T last week. Someone must be willing to pay for it. I sure as heck wouldnt but thats me.
