Mas, I did search this thread and it didn't come up and I apologize for asking what is most likely a redundant question. However what are now the recommended 12 ga home defense loads in a 181/2' barrel?

Over penetration is not an issue for me as we do not have neighbors on the other side of our walls, children, etc. However if you would address the same question for those who live in an apartment or with neighbors close by I would like to pass that info on too.

Thanks in advance!

If it's powerful enough to go deep enough into a large violent offender's body to stop him, it's going to go through sheetrock. Key thing is building a plan where you'll interdict an incoming threat at a spot where you'll have a backstop if your shots miss or over-penetrate, building such if necessary.

In a 12 gauge, I strongly favor #1 buckshot; Federal low recoil in a pump gun, standard "express" loads in an autoloader to guarantee feeding.

best,
Mas
