Can't complain if you don't ask first. Also not fair to air it on social media or internet after the fact.

LGS or gunsmithing is a tough business-- very low margins, high overhead-- perhaps it is a shop used to dealing with high end trap shooters and expensive guns. Like going to the Porsche dealership to get oil change on your Ford.

I suspect it would have been difficult to "air it" BEFORE the fact.

You're from Arkansas? If you're anywhere near magnolia, Blackwood gold and silver would have done it for free.

07/02 ffl too so a lot of cool stuff in the back if you ask about it. No stock up front though. They strictly order stuff for people or work on guns.

I'd rather light a candle than curse your darkness, op.

Consider it tuition.... and leave a scathing review!

    Ouch

Best you don’t go back there. I guess they routinely rip people off.

    So...

You’re defending these crooks for charging over $100 to change sights?

So they charge the same price whether you get the night sights from them and they install them - or you bring in sights you bought on line and they install them.

Yes it was 5 years ago - but I bought a set of night sights for a G26 at a gun show and the guy installed them for free - total was $74.

I can remember when Glocks were $449 with standard sights - $499 if you wanted night sights. I almost think they came from Glock with them already installed - but I am not sure about that.

So much for "Small Business Saturday"

My gosh, it was Rose's gun shop about 5 miles from my house. They are nice folks, small family shop but they are without doubt the highest mark up on their products of any shop I've ever seen. I use to visit them 20+ years ago but just stopped because their prices were so outrageous. Their guns were priced $150 more that other local shops. I remember looking at a Glock 19 there back in the 1990's. Other shops were priced in $375-400 range, Rose's was like $599. I often wondered how they could keep the doors open but I think David's gunsmith service actually keep their business afloat. I think he is an excellent gunsmith and stays backed up for months smithing high dollar rifles. You must live here in NWA.

I live less than a mile from the shop. They have always been nice to me and I want to shop there because it's so close and small time shop but I just can't after this ordeal. Nice to see another NWA fellow!

I don't want to disparage this family, as CC Glock says, they are really nice folks. He has a full service metal working/smithing area in the north half of the shop, south side is gun display and retail products. Husband works the smithing side, the wife handles the retail sales. I've never seen another employee in there, just a small mom & pop shop. Their business model is way out of reason on retail prices but have been in business for many years. I remember visiting their shop in the 1970's as a college student. Their house is behind their shop and have raised their family off that shop. Could not have done that without some loyal customers.

You got bent over, big time and then he straight lied to you by giving some BS excuse. You could have bought the tools to do it yourself a thousand times over for that price. I have an MGW sight pusher and nut driver and I've used them countless times over the years. But...we all have stories. I once had a set of night sights put on a XDm years ago, they didn't charge me anything abnormal but later that day I realized they left a big gouge in the slide somehow.

Leave them a bad review at least.

I just don't understand why more of you gun guys don't just try to do it yourself and save a bunch of money. The only external mod I make to all my Glocks is changing the sights. No expensive sight pusher, just the Glock tool as a punch, small metal file and some lock-Tite and that's ll you need. It takes me about 15 to 20 minutes. Oh, and you also need that Glock front site tool, then you can go into business, replacing all your friends sights! Very easy!

My LGS charges $20.00 for sight instillation for one pistol $10.00 for anymore ..so sights installed on 2 pistols 30.00 ,3 for 40.00 and so on

I would stay clear from that dealer and try my best to hurt his business... Tell one person about them being crooks they will tell 12
