Went to have some night sights installed on my 17. It's a mom and pop store. 20 minutes and $103.00 later I was out the door. Is this normal for installation?

I hope that price included the sights

Installation is so simple and easy, I'd expect any credible store to offer it free if you buy a set of sights. It's roughly a 2-minute job. If you paid $103 for installation, you got ripped off.

I would do it for $100 even...not bad for 10 minutes work. Wouldn't even use a claw hammer to pound the sights in.

I bought the sites on line. I was expecting to pay $20-30 for the installation. Literally sick to my stomach...my wife is going to kill me.

No need to fret. Live and learn. If you plan on getting more Glocks, pick up these and some blue Loctite and you’ll be set.

My local shop doesn't even charge that much to put together an entire AR15.

I bought a new G34X at my LGS and they installed the sights for free because I bought them there for $80. Had I brought my own in it would have cost me $25 for the installation.

I later bought a universal rear sight tool for $53 and a front sight but-driver for $6 and I do my own now

Hey, live and learn. You got ripped off, just like I've been a few times. If I were you, I'd go back and tell them that you found out that they overcharged. Give them a chance to make it right. They probably won't admit it. Then, look at them and say, "I won't ever be buying anything from this store ever again." (and mean it) Then, tell all your friends about it. A local store has only one way to stay open - good service. The truth is, you can buy anything gun-related cheaper on the net. You can even buy guns cheaper on the net - see Budsgunshop.com.

PS My last set of nightsites were $100 for the sites and installation.

Hey CC did they change the oil and change the tires also. Boy I really feel sorry for you. I hope you don't return to that place.

That sucks. We all take it some times. My smith charges 20 to 30 depending on effort or I guess if he needs more money at the moment.
