Dayum! But... good to be alive for sure and certain.

Really good about grandson's minimal wear n tear.

Now... HEAL fast and see if you can get the nurses laughing.

Holy smokes refugeepj, I don't think I took one single breath while reading your entire post. I can't begin to fathom what you've been through, and I'm so greatful to hear that your grandson escaped without serious injury, which is a blessing. I've added you and your Grandson to my prayer list for as painless, as quick, and as complete a recovery as possible, and that you won't have to undergo the added misery of any financial hardship.

Get well, and please keep us updated!!

Glad you made it!! Super thrilled the young one on board is safe.

I've been there, done that, bought the t-shirt including the memory loss. Amazing how many similar injuries. My major injury was an internal decapitation and hangman's break I've never counted the number of operations on my left leg, but it is still attached. (my right hip and leg hurt more than my left now)
3 months in the hospital and 3 years of additional operations later I'm pretty good.

Get off the pain meds as soon as you can.
Find a reason to move around and keep your mind active, it's more important than you realize to speed your recovery. I call pain "background noise", it will always be there. It is my way of not dwelling on it and going on with life. I hope you have a good wife, I can never thank mine enough for all she has done.

If you have any questions at all, no matter how weird you think they are, I probably had them too and may be able to help, send me a note. Anything I can do to help, just ask!!

I was on the bike for 45 years, you are going to miss it a lot more than you think.

Glad to see you’re doing better! You’ve been through hell. I’ve been in 3 motorcycle accidents involving other vehicles. All the other drivers fault; as usual “didn’t see me.”

Last one totaled my V Rod and left me with a broken hip and
    pelvis. Made a full recovery.
No longer ride and don’t miss it. Too many idiots on the road took all the enjoyment out of it.

Sounds like your treatment is going well. Keep up with PT. It makes a big difference.

I doubt that very few people, even if they have good insurance have enough coverage for something like this.
