.22LR at indoor ranges?

I have no experience with shooting .22LR, but I'm considering picking up some ammo and a pistol to have something to shoot. In looking at what's available, I see brass cases, but lead bullets without a copper jacket. I assume this is normal for .22LR? Do indoor ranges care if the projectile doesn't have a copper jacket?

I have no idea as I don't buy .22 and have never really looked at it before.

I never shoot at indoor ranges precisely due to the lead factor, regardless of plated or lead bullets. Lead killed Beethoven.
There are ranges that subject you to almost no lead.. and others that are terrible to your health. When you say indoor ranges you seem to be saying that they are all the same or similar. A new range with air that moves the entire column of air away from you. With a water trap . That is cleaned well is awesome.

I shoot at one idpa range and you can barely breathe from the horiffic air that stays in there. The spent powder and lead gasses just linger. After 90 minutes its hard to breathe.

Matc / milw area tech college has law enforcent classes on a south milwaukee range that is state of the art for protection from lead. I have shot in that range with fbi folks using it.. it is very different spending your time on a very safe range. You shoot a mp5 and watch the wall of smoke and gasses slowly move downrange then removed out the roof.
