I'll be honest I thought this round was going to take the self defense world by storm when it first came out. It married the high capacity semi-auto handgun to the proven .357 BG stopper.
And brother, the .357 mag/125 grn JHP stops BG's like a lightening bolt with a 1/2 way decent shot. I thought the .357 SIG was really going to do well in the cop market but as far as I know theres only a few agencies issuing, three of four of them Federal, and I'd bet most of the rest have since gone to 9mm. Anyway I keep reading this in every info page I find.
1, Pros: Excellent ballistics & penetration
2, Cons: Expensive, hard to find, few choices in guns, very few loadings available.
Well wouldn't the first point fix the second? And I refuse to believe adding 200 to 300 fps to a 9mm bullet doesn't matter. Years ago I posted a similar thread about the 10mm and I hope the .357 SIG makes the same kind of come back. Its really to good to fail.
Ive known a lot of Federale's who love the round and never want to change.
