I have several Ruger 22 hand guns and Rifles.
A few are the SR22 pistols (good gun). Several have rail mounted lasers.
One Ruger is a long barrel SR22P, equipped with a Streamlight TLR Laser/Light (good Laser/Light).
This long barrel Ruger hangs by the back door, 24/7, in case I might need it out back. (killed a Copperhead at the bottom of the back steps, one night)
Today, on my back yard range, I'm shooting the SR22P and a Red laser equipped SR22, a good bit. Other than fun shooting I just want to make sure the SR22P is completely reliable with whatever Brand of ammo it's loaded with.
But the pain in the butt is finding and picking up the 22 brass scattered all over the place.
You would think that with all the smart people in the world.....one would come up with a inexpensive Brass magnet. .
Another fun shoot with the laser equipped Rugers is low light/dark practice, "defense shooting".
The favorite drill is 100-200 shots, while on the move, between 5 to 15 yards.
The normal (steel) target.
In the dark, but still being able to make out the target.
Two 100-200 shot targets. Shot in near dark.
Both targets are a "FAIL". There's a hit on the black boarder at about 3 o'clock...a miss.
My scoring is simple. No matter if I shoot 25 or, 200 shots, a single miss makes the whole target a "FAIL".
My reason is, I missed, but the Bad Guy did not miss, I'm Dead, the Bad Guy isn't.
Constantly on the move, while shooting, 5 to 15 yards.
