You will love the 637, I have one in my right front pocket at this very moment. From church, to the store, to mowing the lawn, this gun goes everywhere. I've killed 2 moles and 2 copperheads in the last year with mine.
I carry 5 shot-shell loads in a medicine bottle in left pocket where I can quickly switch ammo for snakes.
Awesome! I picked up a 637 in February, my first revolver. I find myself carrying it more and more for ease of carry and reliability. You just know it's going to go bang. I did remove the internal hammer lock though.
Yea, I do notice some discomfort, just below the middle knuckle of the middle finger. But I suppose that's the nature of the beast with these little j frames, and my hands are on the bigger side. I have been looking into fuller sized wooden grips also
First range trip with this gun went well. I like it. This was the perfect gift for me

because I would have never bought one (too much time spent reading internet stuff). I own and shoot 9mm Glocks, 40 cal. Glocks, 45 cal. Glocks, 45 cal. Rock Island and an LCP so the recoil on this air weight was nothing special. I believe it can be mastered. I think I may prefer it over the LCP. This was at 10 yards, off hand, slow fire. Circles 1 and 2 were single action only. Everything in the middle was a mixture of single and double. The single action trigger pull is very nice but I'll need more rounds to figure out the double action. Ammo was bought at the range. It was a hodge podge of different manufacturers in one box. I've never encountered that before. Along with the gun my son gave me a box of 158g round nose which i'll shoot next time. I guess those will be more peppy? So consider me sold. I know it's only one outing but I think I will continue training, holster accordingly and carry it.
Something tells me Dad will ensure not only the down-payment, maybe even an upgrade in model...
